Important fitment notes
- Compatibility: For Honda CBR400R NC23 1988–1989 with the original component arrangement described above. Check aftermarket or modified components before ordering.
- Aftermarket parts: These are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda-branded components.
- Product photographs: Generic photographs illustrate the supplied style. Use the contents list for this kit’s scope.
Material and head style: The replacement fasteners are stainless steel and their heads may differ from Honda’s originals. Material alone does not establish the mechanical strength required for a mounting position.
Original Honda part references

- 93500-05020-0A – original switchgear fixing.
- 93892-05025-07 – original switchgear fixing.
These Honda references identify the original mounting components. The supplied parts are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda parts. Match the correct fixing to its original position; alternative year references do not mean additional bolts are supplied.
Supplied bolt material: A2 (304) stainless steel. The material grade alone does not establish mechanical-strength equivalence to Honda’s original hardware.
When should you replace these fixings?
- Rounded housing bolt heads: Worn recesses make opening switchgear or adjusting controls difficult.
- Corrosion or damaged threads: Check each fixing before reassembly.
- Loose controls: Inspect the clamp, housing, locating features and mounting threads as well as the bolt.
Fitting information
- Follow Honda’s separate instructions for each mounting position, including correct fastener specification, clamp orientation, clearance and tightening.
- Seat the switchgear carefully, keep wiring and cables clear and do not force housings together.
- Use fitting compounds only where specified. The included anti-seize pack is not a blanket lubrication instruction.
- Check brake and clutch lever operation, throttle return, switch functions and cable/hose clearance throughout steering movement before riding.
For general background, read our guide to protecting aluminium mounting threads. Honda’s workshop procedure takes precedence.
Customer questions
Are these handlebar-to-fork clamp bolts?
No. They secure the brake holder, clutch bracket and control housings on the bars. The handlebar-to-fork clamps are separate.
Are all the supplied fasteners interchangeable?
No. Match each fixing to its intended clamp or housing. Different mounting positions can require different lengths and head profiles.
