Important fitment notes
- Compatibility: For Honda CB500 1996–2002 with the matching original reservoir cap positions.
- Verify before fitting: Check the exact year, variant and original components. Modified assemblies may require different fasteners.
- Aftermarket parts: These are replacement components, not genuine Honda-branded hardware.
- Exclusions: Reservoirs, caps, diaphragms, fluid and master cylinders are not included. Banjo and control-clamp bolts are outside this kit’s scope.
Original Honda part references
- 93600-04012-0G — Original reservoir cap fixing.
These references identify original Honda components, not Biker Bling SKUs. References for different years or positions are not additional supplied parts or proof of an official supersession. Confirm each fixing at its intended position.
Materials and head style: The replacement bolts are A2 (304) stainless steel. Their heads may look different from Honda’s originals. The material name alone does not establish mechanical-strength equivalence.
When should you replace these fixings?
- Worn bolt heads: Damaged drive recesses can make opening the reservoir difficult.
- Corroded or missing bolts: Inspect the lid fixings and threaded holes.
- Reservoir servicing: Check the cap and diaphragm whenever the lid is removed.
New bolts cannot repair a cracked reservoir, distorted lid or damaged diaphragm.
Fitting information
- Keep dirt, moisture and fitting compounds out of the hydraulic fluid. Protect paintwork from spills.
- Seat the cap and diaphragm as Honda specifies and tighten evenly using the correct procedure.
- The anti-seize pack is not an instruction to lubricate these bolts; use compounds only where the applicable procedure permits them.
- Check for leaks and normal brake or clutch operation before riding. Have damaged or contaminated hydraulic components checked by a qualified technician.
For general background, read our stainless steel motorcycle bolt fitting guide. Honda’s workshop procedure takes precedence.
Customer questions
Are the reservoir lids included?
No. This kit supplies the cap bolts and separate anti-seize pack only.
Will new bolts fix a leaking reservoir?
They cannot repair a cracked body, distorted cap or damaged diaphragm. Inspect the sealing components and correct the cause.
