Stainless Steel Footrest Hanger Bolt kit for CBR400R NC23

Replacement mounting bolts for the original rider footrest hanger brackets on Honda CBR400R NC23 1988–1989. These secure the brackets to the motorcycle; they are not footpeg pivot bolts, heel-plate fixings or exhaust mounting hardware.

What you receive

• 4x stainless steel rider footrest hanger mounting bolts – 2x per side.
• 1x Biker Bling anti-seize compound pack (7 g).

Exclusions: Footrests, hanger brackets, heel plates, exhaust mounts and brake components are not supplied.

Important fitment notes

• Compatibility: For Honda CBR400R NC23 1988–1989 with the original component arrangement described above. Check aftermarket or modified components before ordering.
• Aftermarket parts: These are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda-branded components.
• Product photographs: Generic photographs illustrate the supplied style. Use the contents list for this kit’s scope.

Material and head style: The replacement fasteners are stainless steel and their heads may differ from Honda’s originals. Material alone does not establish the mechanical strength required for a mounting position.

Original Honda part references

• 90157-MF5-000 – original rider footrest hanger mounting bolt.

These Honda references identify the original mounting components. The supplied parts are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda parts. Match the correct fixing to its original position; alternative year references do not mean additional bolts are supplied.

Supplied bolt material: A2 (304) stainless steel. The material grade alone does not establish mechanical-strength equivalence to Honda’s original hardware.

When should you replace these fixings?

• Corroded or rounded heads: Damaged fixings can make footrest maintenance difficult.
• Missing or damaged bolts: Fit the correct specification and inspect the mounting threads.
• A loose hanger: Check the bracket, mounting faces and frame threads together. New bolts cannot repair a cracked hanger or stripped thread.

Fitting information

• Footrest brackets support the rider. Follow Honda’s fastener specification, bracket positioning and tightening procedure.
• Align the mounting faces before starting the bolts by hand; do not pull a misaligned bracket into place with a bolt.
• Use compounds only where specified. Have damaged brackets, threads or uncertain replacement specifications inspected before riding.

For general background, read our guide to protecting aluminium mounting threads. Honda’s workshop procedure takes precedence.

Customer questions

Does this kit include footpeg pivot bolts?

No. It covers the hanger-to-motorcycle mounting positions, not the footpeg pivots or other fittings attached to the hangers.

Will these suit aftermarket rearsets?

Check the rearset manufacturer’s instructions. Replacement brackets can require different mounting hardware from the original Honda hangers.
