Engine casing cover bolts for Triumph Rocket X Limited Edition 2015

The 24x bolts at engine-diagram item 8 are one shared clutch/output-shaft cover group, not 24x bolts for each cover. The other cover groups are additional only as listed in the table. Original references identify Triumph components; supplied hardware is aftermarket and is not genuine Triumph-branded stock.

Model-specific Rocket engine cover fixings

This kit covers the listed external engine covers, including the separate outer clutch cover. Keep the clutch cover bolts, alternator cover bolts, output-shaft cover bolts and sump casing fixings organised by position. It does not replace the structural bolts joining the crankcase halves.

Important fitment notes

• Compatibility: Triumph Rocket X Limited Edition 2015 with the matching original 2294cc Rocket III engine-cover arrangement. This is not a kit for the later 2458cc Rocket 3 models.
• Engine-number check: The long alternator-cover group follows the later original allocation from engine number 516714. Do not substitute the earlier long-bolt allocation without checking the original cover and engine number.
• Modified components: Aftermarket covers, case savers and accessory brackets may need different fixings.
• Materials and appearance: Bolts are stainless steel; the water-pump washer is copper. Head appearance may differ from the originals. Stainless material alone does not establish equivalent mechanical strength. Hardware photographs may be generic.
• Exclusions: Covers, gaskets, seals, locating dowels, oil drain plugs, internal strainers and retainers, cam-cover bolts, structural crankcase-half bolts, breather-plate bolts, coolant-return-elbow bolts, badge fixings and cable-bracket hardware are not included.

Water-pump sealing washer

The upper water-pump bolt is a closure fixing that also serves as the coolant drain bolt. Its 1x copper sealing washer is included. The two separate pump mounting bolts are listed as their own group. This does not include oil drain plugs or the coolant-return-elbow fixings.

When should you replace engine casing bolts?

• Corroded or damaged heads: Inspect fasteners before cover servicing.
• Damaged threads or missing bolts: Check both the fixing and its casing threads before selecting a replacement.
• Cover maintenance: Identify the correct groups before dismantling and keep them separate during reassembly.

Replacement bolts cannot repair cracked covers, stripped threads or damaged sealing faces. Investigate leakage or looseness before reassembly.

Fitting information

• Preparation: Support the motorcycle securely, allow it to cool and follow Triumph’s exact workshop procedure for the disturbed cover.
• Correct locations: Match every fastener to its intended position, start it by hand and never use a bolt to pull a misaligned cover into place.
• Sealing components: Renew disturbed gaskets and seals where specified. Only the listed water-pump copper washer is supplied.
• Tightening: Follow the specified fastener suitability, tightening order, torque and thread condition. Do not assume every cover group uses the same procedure.
• Anti-seize: Use fitting compounds only where permitted. Anti-seize changes friction and the relationship between torque and clamping force; its inclusion is not an instruction to lubricate every bolt.
• Final checks: Restore specified fluid levels where disturbed and inspect for leaks. Have uncertain work completed or checked by a qualified motorcycle technician before riding.

Does this replace every fixing shown in the drawings?

No. Only the groups in the contents table are supplied. Internal retainers, dowels, gaskets, seals, oil drain plugs and accessory hardware shown elsewhere are excluded.

Is this for the later Rocket 3 R or GT?

No. Those 2458cc models have a different engine-cover arrangement. Choose the kit for the exact model and generation.
