Important fitment notes
- Compatibility: Listed for Honda VFR800F RC46 model years 2002–2013 with the original windscreen mounting arrangement.
- Verify before installing: Check the screen, cowl and fixing holes, particularly with an aftermarket screen or modified bodywork.
- Aftermarket parts: These are aftermarket replacement fittings, not genuine Honda-branded components. The large pan-head style differs from the original Honda bolts.
- Exclusions: The windscreen, cowl panels, mirrors, locating tabs and other fairing fasteners are not included. This is not a complete fairing bolt kit.
Original Honda part references
- 90103-MBG-000 — original screen/cowl fixing bolt used at the intended screen mounting positions.
- 90111-KW3-003 — original cowl-setting well nut used at those positions.
These references identify original Honda fixings, not Biker Bling product codes. Honda’s upper-cowl diagram also uses these references at other cowl positions; the diagram totals do not make this an eight-fixing windscreen kit.
Model-specific aftermarket replacements: Biker Bling selects this set for the two original screen mounting positions. The bolts have a different head style from Honda’s originals; the additional supporting washers are supplied as listed.
Materials: The bolts and metal washers are stainless steel. The bolts are A2 (304). Nylon washers and rubber well nuts are made from their respective materials, not stainless steel.
When should you replace windscreen fixings?
- Worn rubber well nuts: Inspect fittings that have hardened, cracked or become loose.
- Damaged bolt heads or threads: Renew unsuitable hardware before refitting the screen.
- Missing washers or fixings: Check the complete fitting arrangement rather than tightening one remaining bolt harder.
If the screen rattles or feels loose, inspect the screen holes, cowl and locating features. New bolts cannot repair cracked plastic or damaged mounting points.
Fitting the windscreen
- Follow Honda’s screen removal and refitting procedure. Align the screen and its locating features before securing the fixings.
- Fit the supporting washers and rubber well nuts in their intended positions. Avoid overtightening or using a bolt to pull misaligned plastic into place.
- Use fitting compounds only where appropriate. The included anti-seize pack is not an instruction to coat the rubber fittings or plastic panels.
- Check the screen is seated and secure, and inspect the fixing points for undue stress or distortion.
