Large-head fairing bolts for the Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord
This 53-bolt large-head bodywork kit is for the Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord (2001–2007). It covers six fitting areas: windscreen, side fairings, belly pan, rear fairing, front mudguard and chain guard. One washer is supplied for every bolt.
What is included in the kit?
This kit contains 53x large-head 304 (A2) stainless steel bolts and 53x washers, with one washer for every bolt. Fasteners are supplied in bags labelled by fitting position.
- Windscreen: 8x bolts and 8x washers.
- Side fairings: 16x bolts and 16x washers.
- Belly pan: 13x bolts and 13x washers.
- Rear fairing: 10x bolts and 10x washers.
- Front mudguard: 4x bolts and 4x washers.
- Chain guard: 2x bolts and 2x washers.
The washers include stainless steel and nylon types for their intended fitting positions. The kit also includes 1x 7g Biker Bling anti-seize sachet. Bodywork panels, fairing clips and plastic fastener inserts are not included.
Head style and materials: All 53 stainless steel bolts in this kit feature a 14 mm diameter head. This measurement refers to the bolt head, not the threaded shaft. The kit includes stainless steel and nylon washers for the specified fitting positions. The larger-head style differs from the original Aprilia fasteners. This is an aftermarket kit, not genuine Aprilia equipment.
When should you replace bodywork bolts?
- Corrosion or damaged heads: Replace fasteners that are difficult to remove or no longer hold the panels securely.
- During fairing or mudguard removal: Check the bolts and washers whenever bodywork is removed for service.
- Missing hardware: Use the labelled bag for the relevant fixing point rather than substituting a bolt from another position.
New fasteners cannot repair cracked panels, damaged rubber mounts or stripped threads.
Fitting the fairing and bodywork bolts
Align the panel and mounting holes before fitting. Start each bolt by hand, use the washer intended for that position and tighten carefully so the fastener does not distort or crack the plastic. Follow Aprilia’s workshop guidance where it specifies a procedure. For more detail, read our guide to fitting motorcycle fairing bolts.
