Engine version A: through engine 689626, or through 691438 for Brazilian-market motorcycles: 8x left crank-cover bolts replacing T3205067. Engine version B: from engine 689627, or from 691439 for Brazilian-market motorcycles: 8x left crank-cover bolts replacing T3205083. These are engine numbers, not VIN endings. The original illustration labels this group 7; the catalogue allocates the alternatives at item 31.
Triumph references identify the original components. Biker Bling supplies aftermarket replacements, not genuine Triumph-branded hardware.
Model-specific engine cover fixings
Keep the clutch cover bolts, crank cover bolts and gearchange fixings organised by location. Match each group to the original mounting positions; this kit does not replace the structural bolts joining the crankcase halves.
The long gearchange-cover bolt uses the included copper sealing washer. Fit this washer at its specified position; it is not a water-pump washer.
When comparing replacement engine bolt kits, check the covered locations, quantities and original references. Read our guide to generic and model-specific motorcycle bolt kits and browse the Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 XC 2015 fastener range.
Important fitment notes
- Compatibility: Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 XC 2015 with the original 1215cc engine covers. Check the exact model, engine number, VIN and original components.
- Modified parts: Replacement covers, case savers or protective accessories may require different hardware. Their additional mounting bolts are not included.
- Materials and head style: The replacement bolts are stainless steel; the sealing washer is copper. Head appearance may differ from the originals. Material alone does not establish mechanical-strength equivalence. Hardware photographs may be generic.
- Not included: Covers, gaskets, seals, dowels, drain plugs, breather-cover bolts, coolant-return elbow bolts, internal oil/water-pump fixings, structural crankcase bolts, decorative badge or protector fixings and separate cable/bracket hardware.
When should you replace engine casing bolts?
- Corroded or damaged heads: Inspect the fixings before cover servicing.
- Damaged threads or missing bolts: Check both the bolt and its mounting threads.
- Engine-cover maintenance: Retain the original fitting positions and identify the correct replacements before reassembly.
Replacement bolts cannot repair stripped threads, cracked covers or damaged sealing faces.
Fitting information
- Identify the positions: Use the matching fitting diagram and the exact Triumph workshop procedure. Start the correct fasteners by hand; do not pull a misaligned cover into place with a bolt.
- Seals and gaskets: Replace disturbed gaskets and sealing components where specified. Covers and replacement gaskets are not supplied.
- Tightening and thread condition: Follow the specified sequence, torque and thread treatment. Anti-seize is not an instruction to lubricate every fixing; it changes the torque-to-clamping-force relationship. Use compounds only where appropriate to the specified installation.
- Final checks: Restore specified oil and coolant levels where disturbed, inspect for leaks and confirm secure assembly before riding. Have uncertain work completed or checked by a qualified motorcycle technician.
Read our guide to fitting stainless steel motorcycle bolts and motorcycle bolt strength grades guide. Triumph’s workshop procedure takes precedence.
Customer questions
Why must I select an engine version?
The original left crank-cover fixing reference changes at the engine-number boundary. Both selections contain 60x bolts and 1x copper washer; only the eight left-cover bolts change. Check the engine number and original reference before selecting.
Is anti-seize included?
Yes. The kit includes 1x Biker Bling anti-seize compound pack (7 g), separately from the bolt total. Use it only where the fitting procedure permits.
