Front fork spindle pinch bolts for the Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord
This four-bolt kit replaces the fasteners that clamp the front wheel spindle at the lower fork legs on the Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord 2001–2007. These are spindle-clamp bolts, not the axle itself or the bolts that secure the fork legs in the steering yokes.
What you receive
- 4x stainless steel front spindle pinch bolts, for the original fork-end clamping positions.
The front wheel, spindle and fork components are not included.
Original Aprilia part number this kit replaces
- 1A000348 – front fork spindle pinch bolt, 4 used. Fowlers lists this as the current reference replacing AP8163066.
Model-specific aftermarket replacements: These bolts are selected for the original spindle-clamp positions on this Caponord. They are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Aprilia parts.
Head style and material: The supplied bolts are stainless steel. Their appearance may differ from the original hardware; use them only in the intended fork-end positions.
When should you replace the spindle pinch bolts?
- Corrosion or damaged heads: Rounded or damaged drive recesses can make removal and refitting difficult.
- Damaged threads or missing bolts: The spindle clamp must have its complete, correctly fitted set of fasteners.
- During front-wheel or fork service: Inspect the bolts and fork-end clamping faces whenever the spindle is removed.
New bolts cannot repair damaged fork threads, a distorted clamp or a worn spindle.
Fitting the front spindle pinch bolts
These fasteners help secure the front wheel spindle. Follow Aprilia’s workshop procedure for spindle installation, wheel alignment, tightening order and torque. Start each bolt by hand, make sure the clamping faces are correctly seated and do not guess a torque value. Before riding, check that the front wheel turns freely and the brake operates correctly. If a thread or clamp is damaged, have it inspected before use.
