When should you replace these fixings?

Inspect clamp bolts and threads when a handlebar is removed or adjusted. Renew damaged or missing fixings. A loose handlebar also requires inspection of the clamp and fork surface; new bolts cannot repair a cracked clamp.

Fitting information

Handlebar security affects steering. Follow Honda’s fastener specification, clamp position, thread condition and tightening procedure. Do not force misaligned clamps together or lubricate threads unless specified. Confirm both bars are secure, the steering moves freely, the throttle returns normally and hoses and cables are clear throughout steering movement. Have uncertain work checked before riding.
