Windscreen fixing kit for Honda CBR900RR SC28
This windscreen-fixing kit is intended for the screen-to-upper-cowl mounting positions on the Honda CBR900RR (893) SC28 1992–1995. It is not a complete fairing bolt kit, mirror mount or headlight retaining kit. The original SC28 screen fastening system changes across the model years, so the supplied large-head aftermarket screw and well-nut arrangement should not be mistaken for identical original Honda hardware.
What you receive
- 4x A2 (304) stainless steel large pan-head windscreen screws.
- 4x rubber well nuts for the four screen fixing positions.
- 4x stainless steel washers.
- 4x nylon washers to protect the screen mounting points.
- 1x Biker Bling anti-seize compound pack (7 g)
The windscreen, fairing panels, brackets and mirrors are not supplied. The bolt heads are described as approximately 12mm across the visible pan head; this is not the thread diameter. Product photos may show examples rather than every part at once.
Original Honda part numbers and model-specific fitment
- 64206-ML0-700 – original screen-setting pin, listed 4x with the 1992 upper-cowl assembly, with 64206-MJ0-000 speed nuts listed separately.
- 90109-SB6-000 – original Honda upper-cowl truss screw listed 4x for the later 1995 screen/cowl arrangement, with 90111-KW3-003 cowl-setting nuts listed separately.
Original parts and materials: Honda’s year-specific references describe the original hardware, not the aftermarket well nuts and large pan-head screws supplied by Biker Bling. The Biker Bling pack is described for the four screen fixing positions, but the original fastening systems differ; check the actual screen and fairing configuration before fitting. These replacements are not genuine Honda parts.
Photographs: Gallery images may illustrate the bolt type or show a model-specific fitting diagram, not every pack component together. Do not treat a photograph of a manufacturer’s parts fiche as a verified retail bag quantity.
When should you replace windscreen fixings?
- Cracked or loose rubber well nuts: Hardened, split or slipping rubber fittings may not hold the screen evenly.
- Corroded or rounded screw heads: Damaged recesses and threads can make removal or refitting difficult.
- Missing or marked washers: Washers support the fastening point and may reduce marking and stress around the screen holes.
New fixings cannot repair cracked screen holes, a distorted screen, damaged upper-cowl plastics or an incorrectly aligned bracket.
Model-specific OEM replacements: Biker Bling selects the supplied replacement fasteners and fittings for the windscreen mounting positions on the Honda CBR900RR (893) SC28 1992–1995, rather than supplying a generic assortment. The critical fitting dimensions match the original Honda fixings for those intended positions. These are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda-branded components.
Fitting the windscreen
Support the screen while removing old hardware. Check the screen and upper fairing for cracks, align the four fixing positions, and use the correct rubber/washer arrangement for the supplied kit. Do not use a screw to pull an off-centre screen into position. Tighten gently and in stages to avoid stressing plastic. Apply anti-seize only where appropriate for the chosen threads and surrounding materials. Read our guide to fitting motorcycle fairing bolts and stainless steel motorcycle bolt fitting guide for general guidance.
Before riding: Make sure the screen is seated evenly, all four mounting points are secure and neither the screen nor the fairing is under visible strain. If the original 1992 pin-style arrangement has been modified, ensure the aftermarket fitting is compatible before riding.
