These numbers identify the original Honda fixing positions, not Biker Bling product codes. The supplied kit contains aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda parts. Year-specific references describe alternatives for their stated years, not additional supplied parts.
Materials and fitting positions: These are model-specific aftermarket A2 (304) stainless steel fixings, not genuine Honda components. Different original bolts have different lengths and positions; do not interchange them. A2 (304) describes the stainless steel material and does not, by itself, establish mechanical equivalence to the original brake or clutch holder bolt specification. Follow Honda’s correct fastener requirements and consult a qualified motorcycle technician if strength or suitability is uncertain.
When should you replace handlebar control fixings?
- Rounded or corroded bolt heads: Worn bolt drives make disassembly and reassembly of controls difficult.
- Damaged threads or missing fasteners: Check the control housing, handlebar and mounting bracket threads before fitting replacements.
- Controls that shift or do not close correctly: Inspect the locating features, housing halves, brake holder and cable routing rather than assuming new bolts will solve the fault.
New fasteners cannot repair a cracked switch housing, damaged handlebar clamp, stripped master-cylinder holder or faulty throttle assembly.
Model-specific OEM replacements: Biker Bling selects the supplied replacement fasteners and fittings for the specified brake, clutch, switch and throttle control mounting positions on the Honda CBR900RR (893) SC28 1992–1995, rather than supplying a generic assortment. The critical fitting dimensions match the original Honda fixings for those intended positions. These are aftermarket replacements, not genuine Honda-branded components.
Fitting the brake, clutch and handlebar switchgear
Fit each replacement only at the intended holder or housing position. Follow Honda’s workshop instructions for the original brake and clutch holder alignment, switch housing locating points, cable routing and correct torque settings; do not guess or over-tighten. Avoid pinching wires or pulling misaligned housings together with bolts. See our motorcycle bolt strength grades guide and guide to protecting aluminium mounting threads for general guidance.
Before riding: Before riding, check full steering movement, brake and clutch lever action, a freely returning throttle, correct operation of all switches and no tension in control cables or brake hoses. Do not ride with loose controls, a sticky throttle or unreliable brakes.
Customer questions
Are lever pivot or banjo bolts included?
No. This kit covers the listed control holders and switchgear housing fixings, not the lever pivots or hydraulic connections.
Where should I use the anti-seize compound?
Use it only where the relevant motorcycle or component instructions specify a suitable thread treatment. Inclusion of the pack is not an instruction to lubricate every fixing.
